Overview
NodeMonkes are the first original 10k supply project inscribed on Bitcoin and have been commonly described as the ‘CryptoPunks’ of Bitcoin Ordinals.
Bitcoin Ordinals are essentially NFTs on the Bitcoin blockchain, and unlike Ethereum NFTs, they are linked to ‘inscriptions’ and link data to specific pieces of BTC, measured in ‘Satoshis’ (the smallest possible unit of a Bitcoin).
NodeMonkes were available to claim from the 29th of December 2023 on MagicEden with a starting bid of 0.21 BTC. 8000 of the supply was claimed via auction. The bid started from here and moved lower over time, decreasing 0.005 BTC every 6 blocks (approx. 60 minutes). The floor price broke 0.1 BTC within 30 hours of the first listing, and just like that, NodeMonkes had burst onto the scene.
